What type of counseling does Daymark specialize in?

Daymark Pastoral Counseling utilizes a biblical or pastoral orientation toward counseling. Although we understand and learn from contemporary counseling theory, we look to the wisdom that comes from God's Word to guide us in dealing with human problems. In addition, we aim to point people to a person, Jesus our Redeemer, and not to a program, theory, or experience as a way to facilitate change. We believe the ultimate source of human change rests in the transforming power of the Redeemer.

How much do counseling services cost?

Daymark Pastoral Counseling is a non-profit organization (501c3) that solicits and receives contributions to help scholarship those who benefit from our sliding scale. We want our counseling resources to be accessible to those who need them. We provide a sliding scale because there are those who cannot afford the going rate for counseling in the Birmingham area. As much as is humanly possible, we want each individual to make an equal sacrifice, rather than an equal payment, in what he or she contributes for their counseling. If, because of extenuating circumstances you are unable to contribute the amount indicated on the sliding scale based on your income, please discuss this at your first visit with your counselor.

At this time Betty Carter is the only Daymark Counselor that can provide a superbill that you can present to your insurance provider to seek reimbursement if your insurance company provides reimbursement for counseling.
